A few months? You shouldn't be driving with a busted subframe for one second. You make you/your car a danger on the road.
Park, save, get it fixed.

Do it once, do it right.
If you paid attention to your car, it shouldn't have gotten this bad in the first place.

Your mechanic sounds like a complete hack. The fact that he would even consider doing some half-assed, lame-brained fix on something as serious as a torn subframe just serves to prove that fact... Take the car to a PROPER shop, and have it fixed PROPERLY before you kill yourself, or worse, someone else.

lol i love how hypocritical you guys get right away, clearly i made some sort of mistake in this explanation, and my mechanic does have a proper shop and over 10 years experience working for BMW, every time i have brought my vehicle to him it has come out better in every way and have not had to return with any sort of complaint. In this situation i am in a situation where ined to be going to work everyday and i need a fix until i get my next big pay cheque.

Honestly man your mechanic may be a great mechanic. But.... Just because he has 10 years+ experience doesnt mean he's encountered every possible issue related to bmw's. I have certain shops I go to when I need certain taks performed. Not because one shop is better then the other. But because one shop has more experience with certain areas of the car. I would recommend you take the car to rmp. Rocco Is a Great tech! And honestly for the work he does, I would really say he under charges! just my .02cents

Exactly!!!!
At the end of the day you are the one who came for an advice here! If you think your mechanic is so great (and not saying he isnt) why dont you do as he says instead of comming here and calling us hypocrites and telling us to stfu when we simply tell you what we think is the answer to your question???
Did you want us to act all mommy like and tell you not to worry and all is gonna be ok? Maybe even feel bad and sent you some money to fix it?
I mean come on man....dont act like a 10yo lil girl!

You Fail at English.
hyp⋅o⋅crite [hip-uh-krit] Show IPA
–noun
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
Everyone telling you to fix it right actually do take their cars to proper mechanics dumbass.

Everyone should take it down a notch. hypno_nls1, you know everyone just has your best interest in mind. Nothing worse than thinking you found a quick fix only to realize a little bit down the line that it's gonna cost you more to correct it than it would have at the start.
You alright invested in some somewhat costly mods so I would assume you don't plan on ditching it anytime soon. Try to avoid making it worse and adding to the expense later in fixing it.
