Best E36 headlights
Which set up is consider the best? I can't see very well at night with the factory set up, I want it to work well at night, last a long time, nothing fancy.
|
Good thread. I'd like to know as well.
eBay has soo many phoney "depo" models. Sux when the imitators have imitators |
If you don't want anything fancy, swapping in a good set of 4300k HIDs would work.
|
zkw's, with 75 watt hid's and whatever your preferred temp may be 6000k, 5000k, i forget wat temp projects the most lumens...
|
3500-5000 is best for luminosity, also doesn't look ricertastic. 4300k is OEM.
|
ZKW or Bosch euros are best if you want to spend the money.
If not Depos or DJ Auto from DDM are decent for the price. Don't even think about those one piece piles of crap from eBay. |
I have ZKW with 6k HID. Works well and doesn't look ricey.
|
Bosch or ZKW! There are pairs in great shape on bimmerforums all the time for $300-350. HID's are good for output but look pretty rice in an e36 regardless of intensity. I know because I had them.
|
Bosch.
Depo's are garbage. |

meh the only time you can possibly break depos is when you are installing them, so unless your a giant ogre with ogre hands, you should be fine, thats not to say there a high quality product, but the projectors and glass are perfect, they look and work very well
|
all of them are prone to breakage especially old/used bosch units(old plastic is old plasitc)
moral of the story is to handle any headlight you have with care. hid kit in any of mentioned headlights is rice because they are halogen projectors not meant for hid lighting. |

eBay is full of replica depos If I'm gonna get a replica,I'd want the depos, not some other brand riding off the depo name |
