Testing waters: Awesome BMW 2002!
I’m thinking about selling my 2002. Here are some pics and a brief description. Many of you are probably familiar with this car from various Max events but if you have any questions, feel free to post to this thread or PM me. Thanks!

This is an unrestored 36-year-old driver that’s tight, looks great and needs nothing to enjoy immediately. As you can see from the pics, some modifications have been made to the car. I won’t go into everything here but can provide more detail if anyone’s interested.

Body: Verona Red 1976 shell, de-bumpered, new paint (2006) below beltline, battery relocated to trunk

Engine: Rebuilt 1969 M10 w/ 121ti head, Ireland 292 cam, Weber 45 DCOE carbs, vintage airbox, Ireland step header, E30 M3 starter

Transmission: 5-speed from E21 320i

Suspension: Custom front with shortened and bent tii struts, MK1 VW Rabbit Bilstein Sport strut inserts, adjustable coilover perches, camber plates, 19mm front sway

Brakes: Aardvarc Racing BBK (tii version)

Wheels: 15x7.5(f) & 15x8(r) widened Porsche 356 steel wheels on adapters OR 13x5.5 Exim basketweaves

Interior: Restored E21 Recaros upgraded with adjustable lumbar support (driver only), new centre console, Moto-Lita wheel, MiG cockpit clock, rare JDM Panasonic stereo w/ frequency shifter, Focal speakers in custom footwell pods, Focal amp, carpeted rear seat delete

Original Toronto car sold at Beach Auto. Maintenance history from new, receipts for everything. Used in a Charlie Sheen movie in the mid-1990s. I am the third owner (purchased from forum member tonyhavana in 2009).

It has some typical 2002 issues (odo not working, fuel smell in trunk) but no game enders. I hope I’ll be in such good shape at 36!

$13,500 or make an offer. Would prefer this goes to an enthusiast. Car is stored in North York.

This is one very crisp '02!
Some fine enthusiasts have owned this car and I hope the trend continues.
Best of luck finding the right buyer for this special classic.*th-up*

a few years before I'm ready to buy :(

Thanks all! Eddie and Rudy, I'm feeling a bit mixed about this as well but my eye's been wandering and it's time to change things up. If the market's not feeling it this year, some serious surgery might happen... Maybe an F20C or RB20DET.

I'm not familiar with the RB series engines, however a red top SR20DET would also work very well. A friend swapped one into his Datsun 510 and it's no slouch on a light chassis. You'd certainly surprise many people!:D

RB Is another Nissan line, in the skylines up until the g35 when they used VQs

Would be a WICKED project if you end up doing it

Or rb26dett ??? *rockout*

Beautiful car! *mw*

Say it ain't so, Joe.

I'd love to have this car back, better now than when you bought it.

Just a little background and a couple of old pics to show this car was never a POS.
I bought the car from Beach BMW, directly from Arnold Van Engelbrechen in 1993.
He originally sold it in 1976 to a couple of ladies who worked at U of T and lived in the Annex.
They serviced it religiously at Beach, (records for proof) and then when one died, the other traded it back in to Beach for a 1993 320 automatic.
I was living close to Beach at the time and happened to see it that same day.
The next morning before work, I went in to look at it and it was mint.
Took it for a quick drive and put $100 down on it to hold it for me til the end of the day. In that day, Arnold told me almost everyone who came in to the shop that day wanted to buy it. I drove it only one winter, and after that used it only after the salt was gone. It has had a ton of mods over the years and Michael has made it even better. Sad that he's selling it, but hope it goes to another old school fanatic.

Thanks for the additional pics, Tony. And thanks to all for the comments!

Here's a better interior shot:

I've seen this car a few times at different shows. I wish I had the room to have another car. Whoever picks this up is one lucky sob. :)
